ODOT Coalition Bargaining Victories

Article 10.3ABE – ODFW won 3 more stewards for the Salem area and State Fair language was incorporated into the contract.

Article 10.3C – Forestry won a steward at the Tillamook Forest Center.

Article 23.3 – Coalition wins right to rebut public complaints during investigations.

Article 32.3 – Forestry increased their comp time cap from eighty to one-hundred and twenty hours to bring them to parity with coalition.

Article 33.3A – ODOT increased meal allowance from eight dollars to twelve dollars.

Article 36.3AC – ODOT increased per diem rate from forty-seven dollars to sixty-four dollars. In addition if the DAS rates change the sixty four dollars will increase proportionately. This change will be effective October 1st, 2007. If an employee is directed by their manager to use commercial lodging the employee will receive commercial lodging reimbursement. Forestry workers who are not provided lodging on fires will receive twenty five dollars for using their own tent. Also Forestry would be eligible for meal allowances while traveling to fires equal to the DAS travel policy rates. DMV will no longer be restricted by the fifteen mile minimum in getting compensation for reporting between locations.

Article 40.3 – Expanded compensation for approved phone calls to those in ODOT, Parks, Forestry, and Aviation.

Article 45.3AB – Parks incorporated State Fair language into contract. We also held the line on an attempted take back that would have required trial service after transfers.

Article 90.3A – ODOT wins flexibility to have extra pay period to use alternate holidays. ODOT also won breaks for those on 24 hour operations.

Article 90.3E – ODFW wins time and one half for missed breaks.

Article 121.3 – Coalition won ability to redo employee development plan at any time.

Article 122.3AB – ODOT negotiated increase of twenty-five dollars for boots. After twenty year battle Parks won a boot allowance of 100 dollars for eligible workers. Transportation Maintenance Specialists and Transportation Maintenance Coordinators in ODOT won an increase of fifty dollars for rain gear allowance. We negotiated expanded eligibility of safety glass replacement to Transportation Maintenance Specialists. The mechanics in ODOT got a one hundred and twenty five dollar increase for tools and the ability to use the tool reimbursement on raingear. We won an expansion of raingear allowance to eligible Electricians and Facilities Maintenance Specialists determined through labor management meetings.

Article 122.3C – Forestry got a twenty-five dollar increase on boots reimbursement. Seasonal Forestry workers got a twelve dollar and fifty cent annual increase on boots reimbursement. Forestry Mechanics earned a seventy-five dollar annual increase in their tool reimbursement. Forestry also won a commitment to labor management meetings that will attempt to expand raingear allowances to appropriate employees.

Article 122.3E – Fish and Wildlife got a fifty dollar increase for uniform and rain gear allowances.

Night Time On Call LOA – LOA expires and allows ODFW Night Time On Call workers to receive cash or comp like everybody else.
